Mmmm, cheeseburgers...

S0, I've had a junior cheeseburger deluxe and a chilli from Wendy's for lunch three days in a row. Is that bad? I guess I can blame it on pregnancy cravings, but man, that stuff is pretty tasty and I'd probably eat it three lunches in a row even if I weren't pregnant.

So, Saturday night turned out to be crap. Kieran did fairly well with my parents-only one major melt-down when they took him to a carnival, let him ride a driving ride and tried to take him out. He hid in the bottom of the car and then screamed like his head was going to pop off when they removed him. Not pretty. But that isn't even the crappy part. Aaron and I decided to borrow a friend's car to drive to my friend's wedding--we just bought a minivan and it's advised that you don't take it on the highway for the first 600 miles, and Aaron's truck doesn't get great gas mileage and we didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for gass. Sooooo, halfway to Chicago we realize that this car we've borrowed doesn't get the much better gas mileage than the truck, and on top of it, it needs premium gas. So much for saving money. Then we get to the wedding, lovely, it's about an hour long-ends at 4pm. Cocktails aren't until 6 and dinner is at 7:30. After the ceremony we get in the car. Key turns but doesn't catch. Aaron mentions that our friend warned us that the key sometimes doesn't connect right away. No big deal. We try and try and finally have to call our friend who tries to talk us through it. About 15 minutes later, Aaron's about to give up when it catches. Whew. So we pass the two hours at a local Borders, return to the car at about 5:50 so we can do the cocktails. Again, car not starting. This time we try and try and nothing happens. Our friend has little new information, Aaron's fingers are getting bruised from turning and turning the key and there is a lot of swearing going on.

After about an hour of trying (that's a super long time in terms of turning a key over and over and over...) we finally hustle off to a Walgreens (dressed all fancy still) and get some WD40 to see if that helps. We return, spray the key, try to turn-nothing. I am just about to flag a police officer down to see if he can help, when Aaron uses some pliers to turn the key really hard and FINALLY it works! At this point it's 7:30 and dinner is about to start. We've already decided that we can't afford to turn the car off and do this again, so we simply drive to the reception place and I run in just as my friend and her new husband, along with their bridal party, are all lined up waiting to be announced before entering the event. I grab my friend, tell her I can't stay (explained why, I'm sure I sounded like an idiot), I leave the card with the gifts, and rush out. I was so bummed. It was a fairly small affair and I had been really looking forward to a nice dinner, congratulating C on her wedding. Instead we had to head home again, relieved to no longer be stranded but missing out on a fun party. At least we stopped for dinner at Wendy's.

S-S-S-Saturday Night

Woo hoo, my first actual blog entry-yay!

Somewhere around here I'm just finishing my 13th week of pgy, not too bad. Things are going pretty well-thank goodness those icky migraines might actually be halting. A week of them I can deal with-a month or more, I don't know...I'm still pretty tired lately, and in general more queasy than I was with Kieran. In my pgy journal from Kieran I wrote that "I'm hungry all the time"--definitely not true this time around! Sometimes the thought of food makes me want to puke!

Aaron and I are going to a wedding near Chicago today, and Kieran's going on a trip to Rockford with my parents. He'll stay with them overnight, I hope he has a really good time. It's going to be really strange to be apart from him though, and he's been kinda clingy lately, so we'll see. Aaron and I might actually stay at a hotel tonight after the wedding-what a splurge! Or we'll decide to drive home later at night to avoid spending the money, who knows?
