everyone's an artist

if i have to scrub crayon off of one more surface in my house i'm going to scream. or teach my children how to windex.

andie has now written on aaron's desk, the hardwood floor, the wall (she managed to color on our vaulted wall-vaulted!), the island countertop, and probably a couple places i just haven't discovered yet. she hoards crayons and then attacks with them when your back is turned or you exit a room. a friend insisted they must be washable, but alas, not the kind i have. don't ask why but i have a drawer neatly filled with a dozen boxes of Rose Art (unwashable) crayons. i have to scrape the wax with my fingernail and then windex the spot.

i have visions of screaming like joan crawford, "NO MORE CRAYONS!"

Hey!! The ONLY thing that works for me with crayon on walls, doors, counters, etc (yes, this happens in my house as well, lol) is Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.. I have yet to find ANYTHING that it doesn't work on.. I'm telling you.. I should buy stock in that product!

that's exactly what aaron suggested! i haven't tried it yet but i know many people who swear by it.

as i'm typing this aaron has just found a MARKER and trying to color on a post-it--A POST IT! you know how small those things are! aaron's desk is going to be trashed. again. aaaah! she just wrote all over a bill from aaron's materials supplier, i guess i need to stop typing immediately! she already got kieran's closet door and the kitchen table since i posted about this topic. she keeps saying "i coloring!" and as soon as i catch her doing it she instantly says "i love you mommy!"

she so knows what she's doing is wrong! and where does she get these crayons and markers???

anyway, thanks for the tip :)

A budding artist, just like her very talented Mommy :) Magic Erasers are WONDERFUL!!!! Except I have to wear gloves, It's like fine sandpaper. The older I get, the dryer my hands get in the winter! YICK!!!
